I can see life in any object. No matter how fun many of the food portraits are, I take pleasure in the fact that ultimately, food is there to be consumed. A painting of an adorable muffin is both an ode to the joy of life and food, and yet has a deep, quiet foreboding as you know your new friend is probably moments from being eaten.
